A two day symposium featuring Douglas A. Tallamy, Author of Bringing Nature Home. Learn how native plants can beautify our gardens and serve as central food sources for insects, birds and butterflies that are essential to a healthy local ecosystem. The keynote presentation will be followed by break out sessions with experts on elements of the Landscape for Life program, an eco-friendly approach to gardening from the US Botanic Garden. On Day 2, participants will tour demonstrations gardens in Arlington and Alexandria to see elements of the Landscape for Life program in action. Saturday, June 9th, 9 AM – 3 PM; Sunday, June 10, 1 – 4 PM. Registration fee is $50 and includes a box lunch. To register, call 703-228-6414.
